Calling All Business Owners

Posted By Lewis Schiff | 10:03am |

On Friday, September 19th, we introduced the idea of an IncBizNet "Business Owners Meet Up" at the Inc. 5000 gathering in Washington D.C.

A "meet up" is a group that meets physically in different regions and virtually, here at IncBizNet to discuss common issues, concerns and ideas. The IncBizNet "Business Owners Meet Up" would be designed to address issues that are specifically of concern to private business owners.

These issues include:

* Dealing with the complexities and challenges of business ownership

* Partner and succession planning (working with partners and considering how the business can thrive after you're gone

* Wealth planning

* Personal transformation and growth (how to maximize your own evolution as an entrepreneur in your next endeavor, with your family, in your community).

I've been asked to volunteer to pull this IncBizNet Business Owners Group together. I'm a business owner myself. I travel around the U.S. all the time and I work closely with other business owners as a "project manager" for their personal wealth projects.

I've lead informal meet up groups before and I really enjoy it. It's a chance to play a small part in people's lives as they go through dynamic and challenging times in their lives. In particular, entrepreneurs are some of the most creative and exciting people I've ever worked with. I also wrote a book about this group of "wealth creators" called The Middle-Class Millionaire (www.middle-class-millionaire.com).

If you think you'd like to participate in such a group, drop me a message here at IncBizNet. We'll be putting these groups together in places that have a critical mass of other business owners. In your message, let me know a bit about your business as well as your region or city.

We'll be creating an online meeting area within IncBizNet where we can share ideas, progress, calendars and documents. But we'll also create these smaller, regional groups for real world meet ups. And we'll post a calendar of upcoming meet ups around the country so you can join us if you find yourself in a city with a meet up taking place while you're there.

I'm excited and hopeful that this "meet up" network can add value to the lives of the entrepreneurs and business owners that participate. Like all communities, it will take some time to take root. But I'm confident that we can build a thriving and helpful ecosystem just as so many of us have built thriving and helpful businesses in our communities.

I look forward to hearing from you. Drop me a note within IncBizNet or leave a comment here on this post.
